Saunders Collection: Natural Lands of Florida is a unique
collection of commissioned paintings of “old Florida” landscapes
and are displayed in the Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders
Real Estate offices in Lakeland, FL. Dean
Saunders built
a successful
land real estate brokerage and land
management business that
guides landowners
through the many facets of land transactions, resource
management, and conservation
easements. This is what
brought Saunders
to the
idea of capturing the natural land’s
beauty through the authentic landscape paintings
of well-known
naturalist and landscape artist, Thomas
Brooks.
The
artist,
Thomas Brooks, was born in Lakeland, FL and grew up around
the swamps and flatlands of central Florida. He brings
into
the popular view his own vision of wildlife and places
that could not be as soulfully captured through any other
medium. The
works of Thomas Brooks now appear in many corporate,
public, and private collections
Each year, a Florida location is selected by Saunders
to be painted. The commissioning culminates at a
corporate event each year, where Brooks displays
the completed
and
framed composition for the current year and the
begins the work of the newly commissioned scene for the
next year.
